Easy Skillet Lasagna Recipe.  This family dinner dish only takes 30 MINUTES and ONE POT to make! This ultimate comforting and cheesy meal is so much easier than making a conventional lasagna.  After you try this version you will never need another lasagna recipe! 

Hey y’all.  This Easy Skillet Lasagna Recipe is kind of the epitome of the type of recipes I strive to create.  Lasagna is one of those meals that is known for pure comfort.  Probably due to the massive amounts of cheese that is usually loaded up into it. Although it’s comforting and one of my favorite meals, I don’t tend to make it.  Why?  It takes a lot of time.  All the work of layering and do I precook the noodle or not? I never know. When I don’t they come out crunchy and just not so pleasant.

I use lasagna noodles when I make this.  It feels more authentic and a little fun.  Admit it, you like the look of lasagna noodles too!  Just break them into pieces over the pot and toss them in.  Press the noodles down into the sauce slightly.  Cover the pot and let it simmer away for about 20 minutes.  Once the noodles are softened your meal is almost done!

This Healthier Skillet Lasagna is loaded with sneaky veggies, ground chicken or turkey, and a homemade tomato sauce making it an easy, healthy dinner that's ready in 30 minutes!

Easy Skillet Lasagna 

Prep Time: 5 minutes 
Cook Time: 25 minutes 
Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3/4 pound lasagna noodles (broken)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 yellow onion diced
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 pound ground Italian sausage
  • 2 14 ounce cans tomato sauce
  • 1 –14 ounce can diced tomato

Toppings:
  • Ricotta cheese
  • fresh parsley
  • Mozzarella cheese

Instructions:

  1. First, Add the ground sausage to a large skillet and cook over medium heat while stirring. Once the sausage is mostly cooked add the diced onion to cook.
  2. Second, When the onion is translucent and soft and sausage is cooked through add the minced garlic. Cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  3. Next, Add the tomato sauce and diced tomato to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  4. Add seasonings and stir. Break the lasagna noodles over the skillet and add to the sauce. Press the noodles down as much as possible into the sauce. Cover the pan and allow to simmer over medium heat for about 15-20 minutes stirring occasionally.
  5. Once the noodles are softened add in a cup of mozzarella cheese. Stir to combine.
  6. Serve and top with additional mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, and fresh parsley.
  7. Enjoy!
